It's Official...

You might have noticed the Stamp Vermont badge on my blog - well I am SO EXCITED to say that I am officially going there with my BFF & Joanne (just a little something)!! I was planning my fall trip to see Karen & this was too tempting for us to pass up so it's official now because we are registered for Stamp Vermont & I have my plane ticket for Boston with a little side trip on the way home to Toronto - I can hardly wait (not that I want to rush summer!!)

Today I used sweet Charlotte Ketto for my card and the Mojo Monday 93 challenge. I coloured the image with copics and added just a little shimmer on the tips of her hair with my gelly roll pen. The paper and brads are all from basic greys Urban Prairie line.

I had a hard time with the sentiment - you would think I couldn't commit yet I've been married 17 years (well next weekend) and with him for almost 20 (yes I was VERY YOUNG) so what's the problem with committing to a sentiment?! I chose "just a note" because you can use it for anything - does that really count as committing???

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays is another amazing sketch, click here for all the details & remember you can with Bella Bucks for entering your card!!

Happy Tuesday - to all the Canadians out there have a great Canada Day enjoy the celebrations we are starting tonight at a friends for dinner so it should be a great night!

Sweet Little One

Happy Sunday - today we are off to a baby shower for my girlfriend & her hubby who had a little boy last month. My hubby was not excited about a baby shower until I explained it's a 10 course Chinese dinner; naturally he was in!

For my card I used Taylored Expressions Beary Special set. I love this set not just because of the images but also because proceeds from the set are going to Sick Kids hospital in Toronto, where some of my friends have had to take their kids; and another is waiting for her little guy to have surgery this summer - I don't know what they would do without this amazing hospital.

The image is coloured with lyras & mineral spirits and I paper pieced the patches on his paws and ears with basic greys archaic paper (didn't know I had it until I was digging in my stash today!)

The cb is Bashful Blue layered with whisper white embossed with swiss dots. The DS paper is layered on bashful blue, paper pieced then I added bashful blue ribbon. The image is also layered on bashful blue. I also stamped the image on the outside of the card in bashful blue

Hope you have a great day - we are looking forward to meeting the babe tonight & hubby is looking forward to the amazing dinner!!

Bella Sketch & Birthday wishes....

This weeks Bellariffic Fridays featured another amazing sketch by Nicky - I love Nicky's clean lines, when I lived in Toronto I loved taking her classes!

I used Wasabi Ketto and coloured her with copics, the cb is Basic grey, layered with rich razzleberry. The black strip was embossed with Sizzix flowers plate and the DS paper is from Glitz Design (Audrey)

The second card is the one I made & sent to Em for her birthday. Shannan asked if I would like make a card & send it to Em with a drawing from Christy - that was a no brainer OF COURSE I wanted to make a card with Christy's image!!
Make sure you pop over to Bloggabella to see the other Bellariffic Friday cards & did you see all the new stamps Em released yesterday?!?! I can hardly wait to place my order!!

Birthday Blog Skip, Hop & Dance For Da'Bella!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EM!! Welcome to the blog skip, hop & dance in honour of Em's birthday & sponsored by Stamping Bella! If you've just happened upon my blog, CLICK HERE to start from the beginning.

Since it's Da'Bella's birthday I wanted to use a Bella & I knew it had to have fun colours in it because Em is anything but conservative! I chose I-can't-see-a-thing-bella and coloured her with copics to match my DS paper from American Crafts teen line called Driver's Ed. I cut the image out with nesties and cut & paper pieced the balloon.

The sentiment is from a happy birthday border stamp from Stamping Bella & I just masked the stamp for the font I wanted. I added some fuchsia bella bonbons because a girl needs bling!

Now just to add to the fun of the hop there is a PRIZE hidden somewhere along the hop so make sure you post comments for a chance to win $40.00 at Stamping Bella; the winner will be announced on the Splitcoast forum on Monday

Thanks for stopping by and now hop, skip & dance over to Jamie's blog to see what amazing eye candy she has & don't forget Stamping Bella has a release starting to day too!!

happy sad card...

Today I am meeting a friend for coffee who is moving to Vancouver this weekend, so this will be our last coffee together in awhile! I am so excited for her because she chose to go back to school after looking after her kids and getting the degree she wanted & now is choosing to move to Vancouver where she has wanted to be for a long time, but I am sad because it's been nice spending time with her since being back in Calgary; so it's a happy sad card.

I chose this saying from Unity Stamps, because it so fits her; she is someone I truly admire for knowing what she wants and then making a plan and getting there; no matter how long it takes - I tend to get derailed if things take too long.

The paper and flowers are all from my June Key Ingredients kit and on the sentiment I added some green apple smooch and stickles

Thanks for stopping by, don't forget it's Em's birthday tomorrow so we are having a blog hop for her day & she is releasing new stuff what a perfect day!!

Weekend Ketto

For the past couple of weekends I have wanted to play along with the WSC but time just seemed to get away from me - maybe it's too much time on the golf course? This weekend not only did I play golf but watched it on TV & I'm sad I have to golf tomorrow because I can't watch the final round of the US Open, I know it's a tough life!

I did take a break from the golf to play along with WSC85, which was hosted this week by Sharon over at Paper Fections.

I chose Lucy Ketto and coloured her with copics, I then popped up the red part of her skirt. Along her wings I added some Glamour Dust Glitter.

I added some Glamour Dust Glitter along the celery strip & embossed the pumpkin pie cs with an embossing plate from Sizzix. The flower & circle are both from stamping bella & they are attached with my Kajinker

Thanks for stopping by hope you had a great weekend

Just for Bellariffic

This week's Bellariffic sketch is from the amazing colouring babe Paula - I wish I lived closer to her so I could take one of her classes!

For my card I used Wasabi Ketto Flowers and a sentiment from Stamping Bella. The images are all stamped on cs and paper pieced; it was strange not to colour anything! I added some Glamour Dust Glitter to my flowers. The DS paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle's Zinna. The flowers are pieced on white cs that is cute with a small nesties square, then I mounted the four squares on pumpkin cs that was cut with a large nesties square.

Make sure you check out all the other Bellariffic cards over at Bloggabella

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Making Snowmen

This week over at the Corrosive Challenge Blog (CCBJ16) Janet had a sketch & when I saw it I grabbed this sweet Elzybells stamp "making snowmen" because it worked perfectly

The image is stamped with Mementos ink on Gina K pure luxury cs and coloured with copics (sorry I forgot to take a picture of them). On the trim on her coat I used white flocking, which reminded me a of pink fur (OK fake fur) coat & hat I had and LOVED. I added some ultra fine glitter on the snow and a snowflake in the corner

The cb is SU's Riding Hood Red layered with Baja Breeze that I embossed with snowflakes. The DS paper is from my stash of My Minds Eye Christmas paper

Have a great Thursday & I hope you can play along with the Corrosive Challenge this week

Bitty, Bitty, Bitty

I must say I do love these Bittyblooms; I don't know why it took me so long to get on the bitty bus!

This time I used Poppy Bittybloom & Amy R's Friday sketch (AMYRS69). I stamped the image with memento ink and coloured it with lyras & prismacolors with mineral spirits. I added some glitter on the center of the flowers and along her skirt.
I popped the poppy up and added some Prima flowers with cotton candy bonbons in both 7mm & 5mm. The DS paper is basic greys Sultry layered on green bazzil cs.

Remember you have until tomorrow at 5pm EST to send your cards to Em for this weeks Bellariffic challenge which is another sketch challenge; this one is by our babe Paula

You can still sign up for the ATC swap and the birthday blog hop

Have a great day - I am hoping for no rain (and sunshine but most importantly no rain) because I am going golfing (yes Wendy golfing again!)

For My Dad...

Both Father's Day cards are made BEFORE the big day - WOHOO now I just have to get them in the mail!

For my dad's card I finally mounted And Many Mower from SU - I bought it right away because I thought it would be perfect for all the masculine cards I needed to make & then it just sat there in my cupboard, like so many others!

I loved Taylor's challenge (TECC72) this week & it fit perfectly with the image plus it came together super quick because I again used my Key Ingredients kit. I coloured the image with copics and paper pieced his hat & shorts. It doesn't show in the picture but I added some crystal effects on the golf ball.

The corduroy buttons are from SU (more stuff that was still sealed..) so now I am off to mail them! (sounds harder then it is the mailbox is 1 house away from me yet I am still running late...)

Thanks & have a great day

Bittybloom SKFYTT

For some reason I haven't managed to do Jen's SKFYTT so this week I did if right away!

I chose a bittybloom
for my card; this is a stunning line from Stamping Bella, and for some reason I didn't own many of them - until the brown truck dropped some off last week!!

I chose peony Bittybloom for my card, stamped with memento ink & coloured with copics to match the DS paper from Crate Paper (Lilian collection- harmony). The card base is pink pirouette layered with soft sky (finally cracked my last package!) I added some stickles in the center of the flower & instead of a sentiment I used 3 cotton candy bella bonbons

Jen is also hosting an ATC swap & asked me to be the Canadian contact - click here for all the details.

There is also a hop for Em's birthday that fellow babe Shannan is co-ordinating, click here to get all the details on how to take part in da'bellas birthday blog hop

Don't forget Em will be posting this weeks challenge today, make sure to pop over to Bloggabella for the details & remember for participating you could win bella bucks!!

Have a great day

Little Hop

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BFF!!!!!
OK when I mentioned it was Kar's birthday to the girls they were all excited & all had their cards in the mail (except Joanne who can hand deliver hers!) Yep mines not made yet - but if Kar got it on time that would freak her right out - only those who live by me (you know hand delivered) seem to get them on time! SO instead I used a set that totally suits Kar & I - Stamping Bella's Huggybellas and here's why:
Yep we look exactly like the Huggybella - right?!
That and the fact we always give each other big hugs when we are together; the first picture is from when I was visiting her last fall asked someone to take our picture so we are rather conservative for us! The 2nd was so funny we were using Kar's camera on auto to take the picture at their house in Burlington before they moved (wow that would have been about 1 year ago!!) and if you have ever used the auto set you will know how much we were laughing while doing this! And the 3rd is us at da' Bella house when we met there in April :)

I hope you have a wonderful birthday - wish we were closer to celebrate it together! Make sure you hop over to see what Joanne, Miche & Janet have for you -

Leslie sent this message to Karen : "Happy Birthday my friend! Here’s the one time I wish I DID have a blog so I could give you a little virtual birthday party on it, but I don’t so your BFF will do it for me – yippee for Dana!. I hope you have a lovely, lovely day and get spoiled and do fun things and eat cake and get spoiled….as you should on your birthday!!! Sending a virtual hug to you :)"

Thanks for stopping by & make sure you wish Karen a Happy Birthday!!

Biker Bellariffic

Jen did an amazing sketch for this weeks Bellariffic Fridays & I decided it was time to ink up a stamp that hasn't been touched yet (yep there are still a few!) I don't want to tell you how long I've had bikababeabella- it was definitely purchased when I still lived in Toronto! I think my Bikababeabella met up with the guys from American Chopper to get her custom made bike!

I stamped the image with memento's ink and coloured with with copics (a lot of them!) I cut the image with an oval nesties but didn't layer it. The cb is pink passion layered with a base colour from basic greys Lime Rickey line, the ds paper is from Lime Rickey as well.

I added some turquoise ribbon and some bella bonbons along the top - to finish her off- make sure you pop over to Bloggabella to see all the entries & remember someone who sent a card in and someone who comments get bella bucks!!

Have a great Friday - it's actually suppose to be nice in Calgary this weekend, sunshine & most importantly (after last weekend) no snow so we will be on the links!

2 for One

I wanted to make this Father's Day card using Taylor's sketch from last week (TECC71) and take part in Janet's Corrosive challenge 15 this week; a Father's Day card but I wasn't sure I would have a chance to stamp today because I had to go to the passport office (yep I am stuck here for a couple of weeks!) Last time I had to renew the line ups were crazy long but I somehow managed only 30min BUT you can't be that lucky twice right?! Well it took only 10 min. start to finish!! There was NO ONE in line how sweet!! Gave me the time I needed to make my card :)

The Stamp is from Taylored Expressions Whimsical Wishes Boys will be Boys line - love this because there is a stamp for any guy in your life. My father-in-law reads a couple of newspapers a day so this was perfect; and although he doesn't drink coffee (crazy I know!) he does like tea or hot chocolate. The card came together quickly because I used my March Key Ingredients from Taylored Expressions, I have been receiving them for 3 months and LOVE them & will re-new my subscription when it runs out!

After the passport office I had lunch with a friend on a patio because it's nice here today & now I am just getting ready to go & golf with some friends - what a great day!!

Have a great rest of your day -

White Christmas

When I saw the colour challenge over on SCS (CC222) was white, just white I decided to try it - I love layering my papers so this was definitely going to be a challenge for me!

I inked up Stampin' Bella's Christmatini and stamped it on 120lb white cs and then used my label 1 nesties to emboss the paper. I coloured the image with copics and added a little crystal effects for the last of the drink in the glass (looks like a crantini?!) I added some stickles on the Christmas ball and the tree & star

The sentiment is from Stamping Bella, and to keep the card clean I just paper pierced the bottom by the sentiment

Seemed strange not to use a lot of paper or embellishments; you would think it went faster then a normal card but I had to think so much about it that I don't think it did!

Have a great Wednesday & don't forget you have until 5pm EST to email Em your card for Bellariffic Fridays- it's a sketch this week by Jen, click here for all the details

Baby, Baby,Baby

My girlfriend had a baby May 21 & I had offered to make up some birth announcements for her - thankfully I took the stuff to make them to my mom's the weekend before he was born & my mom cracked the whip so they were pretty much done (WHEW) I saved the post until after she received them in the mail.

The image is a snag 'em stamp from Imaginisce that I picked up at Scrapbookers Paradise north (thanks Kate!!) The cardbase is certainly celery layered with So Saffron embossed with swiss dots (as you can tell we didn't know if she was having a boy or girl!) The sentiment is from SU's short & sweet set - love that set!

The images are cut with nesties & layered then I added some ds paper from SU and So Saffron ribbon with 3 green rhinestones.

I decorated the inside with a stamp from Imaginisce which was perfect & decorated the corners with more SU ds paper (from sale-a-bration this year)

I haven't visited them yet, she lives about 1.5 hrs away & as soon as she feels up to it I am off on a road trip to see her & meet Matthew- I am really excited!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Sailing Thanks...

My hubby was taken on an amazing trip over the Canadian May long weekend; he went to Boston for the Volvo Cup and while docked they were taken on the boats then they followed them out of the harbour when the race re-started - how cool is that?! He asked for some Thank You cards to send and I have struggled making them because I don't have a sailboat or any type of boat stamp, I finally sent an email to amazingly talented friend Nancy and asked if she had anything - she (being the amazingly talented person she is) immediately had an email of a ship for me to print & colour - how freakin' great is that?! I printed it off & my hubby was blown away that she could get something together for me.

I printed the image on Gina K Pure luxury 120lb cardstock and let it sit for awhile then coloured it with my copics, I didn't heat set the image & the ink seemed fine from our laser printer. I struggled a bit because all my designer paper is too feminine and I wanted to use the team colours so I finally decided to have a white cb, layered with Tangerine Tango, then Pacific Point which I embossed with Swiss dots. The image is cut with nesties and layered on Tangerine Tango.

The Sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Whimsical Wishes stamp set called Branching Out, which Nancy designs. If you haven't had a chance stop by Taylored Expressions and see her amazing sets - for 3 months a set Nancy designed is raising money for Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto which is such an amazing cause!

Thanks so much Nancy you are so talented & I am so happy to call you a friend - we will definitely get together the next time I out east for a visit!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great Sunday

S-T-E-L-L-A riffic

Happy Friday!!! Yep it's already time for another Bellariffic Friday & this weeks was a sketch designed by my BFF and fellow bella babe Karen!

For her sketch I had to use S-T-E-L-L-A so that when we chat later today I can yell it in her ear (really she loves it I'm sure!) Stella with an olive on top is stamped with memento's ink and coloured with copics, her dress is paper pieced with the reverse side of the DS paper I used on the card from Posh Posies (groovy).

I added some stickles to her crown and wand & there is a teeny bit of her drink left in the glass which I coloured then layered with crystal effects. Because I am not a sentiment girl I added some 5mm crystal bonbons along the strip and in the centre of my prima flowers.

Make sure you check out the rest of the bellariffic cards at Bloggabella & remember Em will have another challenge on Monday for next week

Thanks for stopping by have a great day- can you believe they say we might get snow Saturday night yep from sunny & hot to cold & needing the heat; gotta LOVE Calgary!!

Minty Mojo

When I saw this weeks Mojo Sketch (89) I knew it would be perfect for my weekly Christmas card!

I used Minty Coffee (yum coffee....) from Stamping Bella for my card. The image is stamped with memento ink and coloured with copics. I added some stickles on the candy cane and a ghost snowflake with a ruby red bonbon on the circles.

The DS paper is from Prima Marketing Inc's Christmas Fancy collection called Holly. The cb is SU's Baja Breeze layered with Ruby Red. I ran a strip of Baja Breeze through my big shot with cuttlebugs snowflake embossing folder

Don't forget Thursday at 5pm EST is when you have to have your cards emailed to Emily for Bellariffic Fridays, this week is another sketch click here to check it out

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day

Tee-riffic Thanks

A few weeks ago (OK several many weeks ago) my hubby asked me to make him some Thank you cards in regards to golf; now considering he bank rolls the house you would think I would make these a little quicker...

For my cards I used Taylored Expressions TECC70 challenge from this week & all the paper is from the March Key
Ingredients kit (LOVE THESE!!) The stamp is from her Whimsical Wishes line called Boys will be Boys.

The images are stamped with memento tuxedo black ink and coloured with copics, I stamped the flag on red cs and paper pieced it using dimesionals. The Thank You is from another Whimsical Wishes set called Fresh Flowers

Now I just need to make another set of Thank you's for him - wonder how long those will take!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great Tuesday I'm off for my last golf lesson so these cards are fitting!

Teeriffic June

When I made the calenders (I made a bunch for gifts - always seems like a good idea until you start making 12 of them!) I was optimistic that June would provide perfect weather for golfing; fingers crossed that my instinct was right!
Teeoffabella is stamped on Papertrey white cs and coloured with copics, For the golf club I used a gelly roll pen to give the shaft (really that the technical term...) some shine.

Because of the argyle print on her socks I used Sizzix embossing plate that has the argyle look to it
If you are an avid golfer like me hope you have a tee-riffic season :)
Dana
